Note from Tio

Hello Friends,

Happy holidays from me, Tio. Thanks for making 2011 a fun and productive year. I have pretty massive plans for 2012, actually hugely massive plans so stay updated through the twitters, nets and facebookings.

Actually, I can hardly wait for 2012. The world is changing at a breathtaking pace; our job at the agency is to decipher shifts in technologies, trends and culture and position our clients as leaders.

Personally I am working hard on some top secret stuff that I hope to share in the next year… So I’ll be stuck at my desk while my co-workers head off to Canada, Sweden, Australia, Milwaukee and a whole bunch of other places I’ve never heard of.

So, there you have it.

TIO has been hard at work developing ad concepts for Seagate Asia. Specifically, we have developed a design and communications platform for their internal HD storage products. We decided to use simple and strict typography to build lists of short statements that could describe traits of a typical user (a gamer, business professional, creative…). Users rely on data storage as the backbone in their activities. Only Seagate can be trusted to safeguard your digital life.

HBO Doc. Citizen USA

The premiere of “Citizen USA: A 50-State Road Trip” is on HBO, July 4, 2011 at 9:00pm. Tio worked with Alexandra Pelosi and HBO on the design of the graphics, illustrations and animations used throughout the film. The film chronicles a 50 state Road Trip, filmed by Alexandra, as she learns why immigrants become US citizens. Tune in and feel the patriotism!

Ford Focus Hunt

For Internet Week New York, held June 6-13, TIO created a digital mobile game called the Ford Focus Hunt. Each day, a new QR code will be released that corresponds with a digital badge that highlights different features of the 2012 Ford Focus.

The goal of the “Ford Focus Hunt” is to collect all five of the badges by scanning their respective QR Codes. By collecting all five badges, participants are automatically entered for a chance to win Ford’s IWNY Prize Pack.

Road Trip of a Lifetime

For the third year running, IO has been tasked with creating and promoting a campaign aimed at luring US tourists to Sweden. The campaign is co-sponsored by VisitSweden, Volvo Cars, West Sweden Tourist Board and Tourism in Skåne.

We created a site where users can create their own dream itineraries and then submit them to a sweepstakes in order to win their own road trip with a loaner car courtesy of Volvo. The campaign is promoted mainly through social media and PR.

We have partnered up with high impact bloggers who will be sent on a trip through West Sweden and Skåne and report back their experiences. Our first blogger, Julia Allison, just returned and had a fabulous time!
